There has been a lot written online with regards to whether they were 1st runners up in the competition (which means $7000 dollars as an
award) or it was Mkulima Bora.
Take a minute to Google "But team member William Nguru said they are facing some challenges", include the quote marks also. All the articles you find with that phrase are the same in content. I'm quoted saying that we're in univ and we cannot work on our apps full time. however this may be true I'm not the one who said it. I was interviewed on my opinion on who won the competition and what was the source of the information.
did they win or not?
However I had a feeling that there's a problem with the competition organization because for the vast amount of contradicting information, it's either there are two competitions with that name or just plain poor organization in the competition.
I have a number of links I have read in reference to that

Conclusion
Media misquotes to suite their article #Thatisall
